Manchester United’s transfer deadline day plans may well depend on what happens regarding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, according to Fabrizio Romano. Erik ten Hag has overseen a hectic few months of business in his new role but may still be able to strengthen further ahead of tonight’s 11pm cut-off.
At the start of the summer, The Times reported that Ronaldo had informed United that he wanted to leave the club in order to continue playing in the Champions League.
As the squad returned for pre-season training, he once again emphasised his desire to leave Old Trafford and also missed some of their pre-season preparations.
United were initially adamant that they would not sell the icon, after he only returned to the club last summer, but Ten Hag later shifted his stance and is now open to Ronaldo leaving.
