Man dies in horrific crash after Jaguar driver 'loses control while overtaking'

A man has died after being struck by a Jaguar when the driver 'lost control while overtaking another vehicle'. The horrific crash happened on Chew Moor Lane in Bolton at around 6.45pm last night (October 28).

Greater Manchester Police said the driver of a blue Jaguar XE was 'overtaking another vehicle' before they 'appeared to lose control'.

The car then mounted the pavement and struck the victim as he was walking. Tragically, the man - aged in his 40s - died on the scene. He has been taken into custody for questioning. After the crash, a huge emergency services presence descended on the scene. A stretch of the road was cordoned off with a blue evidence tent erected behind the police tape.
