The driver of a Jaguar who 'lost control' before his car mounted a pavement and killed a man in his 40s has been released on bail, police have confirmed.
The horrific crash happened on Chew Moor Lane in the Westhoughton area of Bolton at around 6.45pm on Monday (October 28). Greater Manchester Police said the driver of a blue Jaguar XE was 'overtaking another vehicle' before they 'appeared to lose control'.
The vehicle then struck the victim, a pedestrian in his 40s. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. After the crash, a huge emergency services presence descended on the scene. A stretch of the road was cordoned off with a blue evidence tent erected behind the police tape.
