Manchester City will be hopeful of returning from the international break on a high today as they welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League's early kick-off.

Much of the talk ahead of the match this weekend has centred around star striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian talisman had to withdraw from international duty due to a groin injury.

Haaland did not feature in training on Thursday but in his pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola refused to rule the striker out of the game, instead saying he would wait until the end of Friday's session to make a call on Haaland's fitness.

Should he not be fit to start, we can expect to see Julian Alvarez feature having impressed in City's last match vs Burnley.
