Man City transfer window verdict as Pep Guardiola prioritises keeping squad tight

manchestereveningnews.co.uk

Manchester City have had a quiet transfer window with just two new additions made to Pep Guardiola's squad. Savinho's arrival from Troyes and Ilkay Gundogan's return after a season at Barcelona are the only new players to arrive at the Etihad Stadium.

City's lack of activity doesn't appear to have impacted them on the pitch however. Guardiola's team have looked impressive in the early stages of their bid for an unprecedented fifth straight Premier League title.

City have earned comfortable wins over Chelsea and Ipswich Town and face West Ham next on Saturday. The main thing is that City aren't weaker at the end of the window than they were at the start, even with Julian Alvarez's exit.
