Man City star Riyad Mahrez breaks Didier Drogba's Premier League record during win over Liverpool FC

Manchester City attacker Riyad Mahrez broke Didier Drogba's record to become the African player with the highest number of assists in Premier League history.

The Algerian international registered his 56th top-flight assist by setting-up Kevin De Bruyne in the 4-1 victory over Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side went behind after Mohamed Salah opened the scoring, but Julian Alvarez made it 1-1 before the halftime break.

City took control of the clash in the second half and went 2-1 up through De Bruyne, with Mahrez putting the ball on a plate for his Blues teammate.
