Manchester City had too much for Slovan Bratislava as they eased to their first win of this season's Champions League. Pep Guardiola's side were heavy favourites for their first ever game against Slovakian opposition but knew they had to get a result after drawing their first match with Inter.
With the new league table format of the first phase, goal difference could also be important. Early goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden set them on their way, but it was only midway through the second half when Erling Haaland and James McAtee truly finished the game off.
