M4 Prince of Wales Bridge closed after 'serious incident'

The M4 Prince of Wales Bridge was closed westbound for more than an hour on Saturday, December 30 following a police incident.

Traffic Wales declared a 'severe' incident affecting traffic and causing long delays in both directions.Motorists used the M48 Severn Bridge as an alternative route.

A rolling roadblock was imposed eastbound on the M4 bridge but later lifted.Traffic Wales first declared the closure at 8.49pm, and had lifted it by 10.08pm.
