Jurgen Klopp hopes Liverpool's recent 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United in the Premier League will be talked about for years to come.

Although United have made tremendous progress with Erik ten Hag this season, they have struggled away from home and Liverpool ruthlessly put them to the sword at Anfield last month, just like Manchester City did at the Etihad.

Liverpool were leading 1-0 at half-time thanks to Cody Gakpo's goal, but the bulk of the damage was done after the break. United conceded six goals in the second half and they spectacularly capitulated at the hands of their most fierce rivals. The Liverpool manager smiled when bringing up the victory and he said he wants it to be remembered. "I always thought I would have time for these things after my career," Klopp told a press conference on Friday. "So this season, if we don't do something really special, will be remembered for the 7-0 win against United. "I hope when people speak about it in a few years they will look back on it and [say], 'that is the year we beat United 7-0' and that they could say something nice on top of that.
