The 2022/23 Premier League season has already made for fascinating viewing. From Arsenal staging an unlikely title charge with eight wins from nine to Liverpool mysteriously failing to conjure up their usual Jurgen Klopp magic, there have been plenty of narrative threads for fans to try and unravel.
By now, the supporters of all 20 clubs will have established a pretty clear idea of where their team is headed this season whether that be challenging for the title, competing for the top four, stagnating in mid-table or dodging the drop.
And a lot of those potential outcomes next spring are informed by what brand of football the team is playing and how well they're able to execute it.
At the end of the day, very few teams have the technical ability and personnel to channel a Pep Guardiola brand of 'tika-taka' football, so the way forward for a lot of sides often lies with drawing up a philosophy that best suits their resources.
