LIVE updates: Large police cordon in place after serious motorcycle crash on major Greater Manchester road

Police have cordoned off a Greater Manchester Road following a serious motorcycle crash that took place late this afternoon (Sunday, February 11).

Manchester Road in Castleton has a cordon in place and multiple police vehicles on the scene after the crash, with debris still strewn across the road from the earlier incident.

The crash happened at around 4.20pm on the route which runs just south of the M62 and the cordon remains in place this evening.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment. This is a liveblog, follow below for updates A witness, who pulled over to help in the minutes following the crash, says the motorcyclist collided with a car. @MENnewsdesk Many people, including residents living within the cordon, are being turned away from the scene.
