LIVE: Manhunt underway after police flood residential street following shooting - updates

Police flooded a residential street in Bolton after a shooting in the early hours of this morning (February 27) with a manhunt now underway.

Emergency services descended on Yewdale Gardens, Breightmet, at around 12am to reports of a firearms discharge. Enquiries overnight have now revealed a shooting did take place.

A scene was erected and remains in place with detectives and forensics in attendance. Officers have remained at the scene throughout the day amid the ongoing investigations. This is a live incident.

Updates below. Police were called to the scene of the shooting at around 12am today. A cordon remains in place, and officers have remained at the scene for 14 hours.
