Lisandro Martinez has sent a message to Alejandro Garnacho after the Manchester United winger made his senior international debut for Argentina.

The 18-year-old came on for the final 16 minutes as the World Cup winners beat Australia 2-0 in a friendly on Thursday, with Lionel Messi and German Pezzella grabbing the goals.

Garnacho had been called up to the senior squad in March but had to withdraw due to an ankle injury sustained against Southampton, which kept him out until May.

He had also been selected in March 2022 but failed to feature. So the teenager was delighted to finally get onto the pitch for his country this week.
