Manchester City defender Alex Greenwood has shared an update on the gruesome eye injury that she sustained in England's Women's World Cup Final defeat to Spain.
The Lionesses made history by becoming the first senior England side since 1966 to reach the last two, however Olga Carmona's goal saw the Spanish triumph at Sydney's Stadium Australia.
Greenwood was a standout performer for the Lionesses throughout the tournament, but she was almost forced off in the final after an aerial clash with Spain winger Salma Paralluelo.
Greenwood appeared to take a knee to the face and spent a considerable amount of time on the turf while she received physio treatment.
