Liam Fox set for Aberdeen as Barry Robson lines up former Dundee United boss to Pittodrie backroom team

Former Dundee United boss Liam Fox is set to join Barry Robson’s backroom staff at Aberdeen. Fox was fired as Tannadice boss in February after a five-month spell in charge.

But he remains one of the most highly-rated coaches in the Scottish game and the Dons have spoken to him about a post until the end of the season.

Interim Aberdeen manager Robson, who has been assisted by Steve Agnew, looks like retaining the position to see out the campaign.

That puts the former Celtic and Middlesbrough midfielder firmly in the frame for the Pittodrie gig on a permanent basis. Fox was originally in a caretaker job at United following the sacking of Jack Ross.
