A lengthy stretch of a major Valleys road has been closed following a crash in the early hours of New Year's Day. Bute Street in Treorchy, Rhondda Cynon Taf, is closed between High Street and the junction for Prince's Street.South Wales Police posted a tweet at 3.32am stating that the road was likely to remain closed for a protracted period.The post read: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Bute Street, Treorchy.

The road is currently closed in both directions between the junction of High Street and Princess Street [sic]. It is expected to remain closed for some time."
