Kylian Mbappé has been named France’s new captain by head coach, Didier Deschamps. The 24-year-old succeeds Hugo Lloris in the role following his retirement from international football.
Mbappé has become France’s biggest star having been part of the World Cup-winning team in 2018 as a teenager. He has scored 36 goals in his 66 international appearances and became only the second player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final during France’s defeat to Argentina in Qatar last year. “Didier Deschamps has named Kylian Mbappé the new captain of Les Bleus,” confirmed the France Football Federation.
