The third India vs England Test has seen its moments with two more days of play remaining. The first day of the contest saw tons from Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. However, one person who was talked bout the most was debutant Sarfaraz Khan. After much wait and solid performances in domestic cricket, the Mumbai batter made his India debut. He even scored a 48-ball half-century - the joint-fastest by an Indian Test debutant in the post-independence era.
Star India spinner Ravindra Jadeja lodged another achievement to his name as he dismissed England Test skipper Ben Stokes in the second session of Day 3 of the third Test of the five-match series at Niranjana Shah Stadium on Saturday. Jadeja dismissed Stokes for 41 when the Three Lions' score was 299 amd became the fifth Indian to complete 200 Test wickets in India after legendary bowlers Anil Kumble (350), Ravichandran Ashwin (347), Harbhajan Singh (265), and Kapil Dev (219).
Debutant Sarfaraz Khan's maiden innings for the Indian cricket team was short-lived as the batter got himself run out after a terrible mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja on Day 1 of the third Test against England. Sarfaraz scored a stunning 62 runs off 66 balls, striking at a rate of over 90 in his maiden innings for the Indian team. But, the young lad's hopes of converting this start into a triple-digit score were shattered following the miscommunication with Jadeja. However, what is interesting is that a fan had already predicted this on social media.
Star batter Sarfaraz Khan smashed a stylish 62 off 66 balls on his Test debut for India during the third Test against England in Rajkot. He put on a sparkling show of batting and looked on course to hit a big score but a miscommunication with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the middle cut short his brilliant innings. Sarfaraz was run out by Mark Wood at the non-striker's end. Jadeja played the ball towards mid-on and took a couple of steps before denying Sarfaraz the single. By this time, the debutant was already way out of his crease and a direct hit from Wood caught him well short at non-striker's end.
Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma took a cheeky dig with reference to the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2 of the third Test match against England in Rajkot. Jadeja did not have a good outing with the ball after scoring a century and the all-rounder ended up conceding 33 runs in 4 overs with two no-balls. During the 31st over of the England innings, Jadeja bowled two no-balls to Joe Root and Rohit commented that he never bowls these many no-balls in the IPL and joked that he should think that it is a T20 game and bowl accordingly.
