It's not been the debut season that Phillips would have envisaged after his £45m move from Leeds. He played just 21 times, at an average of 28 minutes per appearance.
His only two Premier League starts came in the three games after City won the league. As Rodri played an imperative role in the treble win, Phillips struggled with injury and form, and simply couldn't convince Pep Guardiola that he was ready to stand in for Rodri.
He struck the bar at Bristol City after three minutes, and that's about the extent of his footballing highlights for City so far.
