Jeanfield Swifts manager Robbie Holden has shared his excitement after securing the signature of former St Johnstone youngster Jordan Northcott.

Northcott, who is from Perth, has penned a deal at the Riverside from Highland League outfit Brechin City. Holden was thrilled to welcome the attacker as the East of Scotland League Premier Division start nears. “Jordan brings another level of quality,” Holden explained. “He has pace to burn, his use of the ball is good, he’s got intelligent movement and he works hard for the team. “Considering he’s not trained or had a pre-season, it’s really exciting to think what he can bring to our team on the first showing. “Once he’s fully fit and up and running I think we have a very good player on our hands.” Swifts, meanwhile, are sending out the rallying call for Jamie Reid’s testimonial this Sunday.

The defender’s service to the club will be celebrated with a match against a St Johnstone XI at the Riverside, kicking-off at 1pm.

But from 12pm there will be a range of fun activities for all the family including bouncing castles and live music. Reid is a popular character on and off the field of play and a bumper turnout is expected.
