Dancing on Ice fans are calling on ITV to make a change to the show as the new series got underway. Following the debut episode of the sixteenth season, fans have been complaining about the frequent use of ad breaks throughout the 90-minute runtime.

Some even remarked that it felt like the ads were coming in every five minutes. While the show will see 12 celebrities compete against each other to be crowned the champion of the rink, not all of them will be featured in Sunday night's episode.

And some annoyed fans complained that they could have seen all contestant in the first episode if it wasn't for the barrage of adverts. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...

A second said: "ITV need to seriously turn it down with the Ad breaks!! "Taking the p**s every 5 minutes." A third added: "There are so many ad breaks on this show, it’s ridiculous." Another complained: "What's with all this skating inbetween the breaks." While a fifth said: "Loving dancing on ice but so many long advert breaks." The new series of Dancing on Ice kicked off on Sunday night with the first six celebrities performing for the judges and those watching at home.
