Coronation Street fans may have thought that Spider Nugent being married was the big secret he was hiding, which he revealed to a furious Toyah Habeeb last week.

However, that was only the tip of the iceberg as his real secret was revealed during the latest trip to the cobbles. Viewers of the ITV soap were stunned when it was revealed that the recently returned character, played by Martin Hancock, is actually working undercover for the police.

In recent weeks, a lonely Toyah has been nervously awaiting her trial for Imran’s murder earlier this year. They have seen her growing closer and closer to ex Spider as she attempts to distract herself from her grief - and her guilt as it has already been revealed that Toyah will confess all about deliberately crashing the car before Imran went into cardiac arrest and died at the scene.
