Youngsters hoping to meet their Manchester City heroes are being charged more than £2,000 as part of a new matchday package.

The club's Autograph scheme costs £2,130 for under 12s, and includes match tickets, a drinks reception, a five-course meal and the chance to meet the players.

The fee increases to £3,200 for older children and adults. The charge has been criticised by some who claim it prices out City mad youngsters from meeting their idols. City’s prices are far too much for working families. It’s not like the club needs the money, is it?” It's understood that the club separately offers young fans the chance to meet players on matchdays, as part of mascot and player escort experiences, free of charge.
