'It could easily have killed us'...Horror as Audi ploughs into garden during police chase and 'pins' teen under car

A man says his brother is lucky to be alive after an Audi being chased by police crashed into the side of their house and landed on its roof in their garden.

Eyewitnesses said the car, which was being pursued by officers after allegedly failing to stop, ploughed into a tree before flying through the air and hitting the gable wall of the property on Union Road, where Thomas Ashley, 22, lives with his two siblings, his mum, and step-dad.

Mr Ashley says he had got up to make a drink shortly before the smash however his 19-year-old brother who remained in the garden was struck and initially pinned under the car, which overturned and came to rest upside down. He was taken to hospital but has thankfully not been seriously hurt. The driver of the car, who has been arrested, was also taken to hospital.
