Manchester United player Marcus Rashford is considered an injury doubt ahead of the Carabao up final against Newcastle United after sustaining an ankle injury against Barcelona in midweek.

Rashford, 25, was eventually replaced by Scott McTominay in the 88th minute on Thursday at Old Trafford after going to ground earlier in the second half but choosing to carry on after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Manager Erik ten Hag has said he is unsure whether the player will be fit to start the final as his fitness continues to be assessed ahead of kick-off.

The forward has been named in the starting XI of United's last six matches since only featuring from the bench during their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Nottingham Forest.
