Ireland's Josh Little named on ICC team of the year

Ireland's Josh Little has been named in the T20I Team of the Year after a 2022 where he was the second-highest wicket-taker.Little's inclusion in the team capped a year where he became the first player to be bought at the Indian Premier League auction whilst playing for Ireland.The Dubliner was bought by the Gujarat Titans for a fee of 4.4 crores [approximately €460,000] in Kochi at the 2023 auction.Little took 39 wickets during the calendar year, 11 of which came at the T20 World Cup.

There was also the four against New Zealand in Belfast and the opening contribution against England in the World Cup, where the Irish emerged victorious by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.England's T20 World Cup winners Jos Buttler and Sam Curran also make the team.As for the women's selection, Sophie Ecclestone, the slow left-armer, who is ranked number one T20 bowler in the world, is the sole English representative.
