India batter Ravindra Jadeja looked set to complete his century as he arrived on the pitch on Day 3 of the first Test against England in Hyderabad.

However, only a few runs later, England star Joe Root trapped him in front of the stumps, and the umpire had no issue in raising his finger.

However, Jadeja remained unconvinced and went straight to the third umpire, opting for a DRS referral. The third umpire analysed the footage available from multiple angles, and in the end, the decision went in the favour of Root and the England team.

But, that didn't stop a social media debate from triggering. The confusion erupted in the mind of the third umpire after the Ultra Edge showed a big spike just as the ball passed the bat.

Jasprit Bumrah's throbbing afternoon spell on the second day of the second Test against England in Vizag on Saturday made former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly advocating for sporting pitches rather than preparing rank turners. Bumrah homed in on Ollie Pope's stumps with a laser-guided yorker to dismiss the England batter for 23 off 55 balls, earning it a separate fan base altogether. It wasn't entirely surprising then to see Ganguly, a lifelong supporter of pace bowling and sporting tracks, airing his views in favour of decks that keeps bowlers of all genres in the game, rather than just spinners.
Former England opener Geoffrey Boycott feels India skipper Rohit Sharma is "past his prime" and the hosts badly missed the peerless Virat Kohli in the series opener against England in Hyderabad Despite enjoying a strong position after the first innings, India lost by 28 runs against England in the first Test to trail 0-1 in the five-match series. In the absence of Kohli, the onus was on Rohit to shoulder the responsibility in the batting department but he could only manage 24 and 39 in two innings as the Indian batting crumbled big time while chasing 231 on a fourth day pitch. And Boycott believes it is a golden chance for England to beat India in their own backyard after 12 years.
