The Manchester City squad were closer than ever in 2022/23 as they won the treble, helped in no small part by the partners of the players.

City were eight points behind Arsenal at one point in the Premier League title race, but clawed back the deficit to win the title with three games to spare and ultimately finish five points ahead of the Gunners.

Ilkay Gundogan's FA Cup final brace secured the domestic double, before Rodri scored the winner in the Champions League final to complete a historic treble.

Lifting the European Cup would be Gundogan's final act as City captain, as his free transfer to Barcelona was confirmed on Monday.

Pakistan Hockey Federation Bans Five Formers Players For Trying To Make Separate Federation
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Wednesday imposed a life ban on five former Olympians for trying to form a parallel body. PHF President Tariq Bugti said that former Olympian and internationals Nasir Ali, Khalid Bashir, Saleem Nazim, Abbas Ali and Haider Ali had been banned for life. "The PHF found them guilty of trying to run a parallel federation, stealing PHF records and using funds from a PHF account without approval," Bugti said. Since last year after Brigadier (retd) Sajjad Khokar was forced to resign as PHF chief after being in power for more than two terms, a power-struggle is going on between two groups to take control of the PHF.
