Hamilton Academical have announced John Brown has stepped down as chairman of the club after just over a year at the helm. Brown, who has served as a director at the club for many years, was appointed to the role in late August 2023, but a statement from Accies owner Seref Zengin told fans that he is stepping down with immediate effect.

No reason has been given for him leaving the role and there is no indication on who will be his replacement. Mr Zengin's statement read: "On behalf of myself and Hamilton Academical Football Club, we extend our deepest gratitude to John Brown as he steps down from his role as Club Chairman. "John has overseen a period of significant transition for the Club and led with unwavering dedication, vision, and a commitment to our mission that has strengthened our organisation for the future. "His leadership, wisdom, and support have been invaluable in navigating complex changes as we have transitioned into the #NewEra at Hamilton Academical FC, and his legacy will continue to guide us as we move further forward into this exciting new chapter for Hamilton Academical FC. "We thank him sincerely for his exceptional service, and we can confirm that John will continue with the club as a Board Member."
