Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri played a starring role as Uruguay beat Nicaragua 4-1 on Thursday. The South American side cruised to victory in Marcelo Bielsa's first game in charge, with two goals in each half capping off a typically box office performance from the former Leeds United manager.
Pellistri was picked to start on the right wing at Estadio Centenario in Montivideo and the United youngster didn't take long to make an impact, latching onto a long diagonal ball before teeing up Matias Arezo for the opener inside eight minutes.
Just before half time, the 21-year-old played a major role in Uruguay doubling their lead, picking up the ball in his own half and bursting forward before laying off Rodrigo Zalazar to slot home. Pellistri will get a fresh chance to impress on Wednesday, when Marcelo Bielsa selects his side to face Cuba in a second summer friendly.
