Philippe Clement's former club KRC Genk have won a landmark decision after having a goal wrongly disallowed in a 2-1 loss to Anderlecht last month - meaning that the game will now have to be replayed.
In the Belgian Pro League clash between the two teams at the Lotto Stadium on Saturday, December 23, the away side thought they had taken the lead when winger Yira Sor found the net from a rebound after former Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel had saved Bryan Heynen's penalty.
But that joy was quickly turned to despair, when following a VAR check, the goal was chalked off after referee Nathan Verboomen and his officials deemed that Yor had encroached inside the penalty area before the spot kick had been taken.
Despite the call, Genk, would go onto take the lead through Alieu Fadera's header 20 minutes from time - only to throw away all three points in a dramatic end to the game.
