Gartcairn close in on league top spot as they hit form 'at the right time'

Gartcairn boss Mick Dunlop reckons his side are hitting form at the right time as they closed in on top spot in the West of Scotland First Division.

The MTC Park side beat Shotts 1-0 at home last midweek thanks to a Jordan Love strike and on Saturday Love was on target again as his equaliser earned a 1-1 draw when title rivals Benburb came calling.

Cairn have won five and drawn one in their last six outing and it leaves them just a point off league leaders St Cadoc’s with two games in hand.

And Dunlop, whose side have South Challenge Cup semi-final with Drumchapel tonight before hosting St Roch’s in the league on Saturday, said: “We are in a good spot now in the league.
