Gabriele Biancheri has officially completed his move to Manchester United from Cardiff. The 16-year-old completed a medical with United last month, but it has taken a while for the paperwork to be signed off and for FIFA approval to be granted.
Biancheri will join the club as a scholar before penning a long-term professional contract when he turns 17 in September. Read next: United might have a new player in their best starting XI The Welsh teenager was attracting plenty of interest from other top sides and was understood to be on Chelsea's radar last summer, but it is United who have won the race to sign him.
He made his debut for Cardiff's U18 side in the FA Youth Cup earlier this season, and has already trained with the Welsh club's U21 side as well.
His move to United was made official on Monday night, and taking to social media, Biancheri posted a message to celebrate his transfer. "After more than 9 years, my time with Cardiff has come to an end," he wrote on Twitter. "I’d like to thank all of my coaches for helping me become the player and person I am today and to all my teammates.
