Gabby Logan uses rude phrase twice to describe USA Olympic team on BBC coverage

BBC presenter Gabby Logan twice used an expletive phrase live on air when describing the performance of Team USA in the 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics.

The four USA sprinters entered the final as one of the favourites however a severe error, which resulted in disqualification, on one handover saw them fall significantly down the pecking order.

Canada, headed up by legendary sprinter Andre De Grasse, took gold while South Africa claimed silver and Team GB took bronze following an excellent final leg by Zharnel Hughes.

In the aftermath of the race, Logan was discussing the result with the BBC's Athletics panel, which includes Jessica Ennis-Hill and Michael Johnson.

After the famous win, however, the USA basketball team's official X account became the subject of social media trolling over the post "Are we the World Champs now?" This post was seemingly a direct swipe at the country's own sprinter, Noah Lyles, who had questioned why the NBA champions call themselves 'world champions.'
