Gabby Logan uses rude phrase twice to describe USA Olympic team on BBC coverage

BBC presenter Gabby Logan twice used an expletive phrase live on air when describing the performance of Team USA in the 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics.

The four USA sprinters entered the final as one of the favourites however a severe error, which resulted in disqualification, on one handover saw them fall significantly down the pecking order. Canada, headed up by legendary sprinter Andre De Grasse, took gold while South Africa claimed silver and Team GB took bronze following an excellent final leg by Zharnel Hughes.

In the aftermath of the race, Logan was discussing the result with the BBC's Athletics panel, which includes Jessica Ennis-Hill and Michael Johnson. As a replay of their bad changeover played, Logan can be heard describing the error by Team USA as a 'c*ck-up'.

Immediately after that, coverage on BBC switched to the velodrome where Team GB's Jack Carlin took home a bronze medal in the men's sprint. Live cameras then returned to the Stade de France with the USA again as the topic being discussed.

In an attempt to bring Johnson into the discussion, Logan again used the expletive phrase with viewers left shocked again. On X, @@charles_mossman said: "Did I just hear Gabby Logan use the term “c**k-up” to describe the USA relay performance?"

@SusanlLawson added: "Cock up*@GabbyLogan can you say that?... !!". @CllrJanePalmer meanwhile, was left unimpressed saying: Not good to hear @GabbyLogan use the technical term C**k-up when describing USA men's relay error.. let's keep it professional."
