Former Proteas fast bowler Morne Morkel is the new bowling coach for Pakistan.READ | Enoch Nkwe: Head of the table driving South African cricket's resurgence Morkel, who is currently working with Lucknow Super Giants, will join up with Pakistan following his IPL commitments, according to Cricinfo.He will be joined by former Proteas and Western Province batsman Andrew Puttick who was named the national team's batting coach.
The South African influence doesn't end there with Mickey Arthur, who has coached Pakistan and Australia named as team director, a role he will fill remotely.Arthur remains the coach of the English county side Derbyshire.
Morkel is an experienced bowling coach, having spent time with Namibia, the New Zealand women's team, as well as with Durban's Super Giants during the SA20.
Puttick, who played a single ODI for South Africa during his playing days, served as the batting coach for the Proteas women's team at the recently concluded T20 World Cup, where they lost in the final to Australia.
