Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster opens up on promise he made to Wrexham

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has admitted that he promised Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson that he had the hunger to fight for promotion to the football league.

Foster's arrival in March led to plenty of media interest after the 40-year-old's last club was Premier League side Watford.

The ex-United man had retired at the end of the 2021/22 season but returned to the field on a short-term basis after Wrexham 'keeper Rob Lainton suffered a season-ending injury.

The ex-England international made his biggest impact to date on Monday as he saved Cedwyn Scott's last-gasp penalty to secure the Red Dragons' 3-2 victory over Notts County.
