Former Manchester United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen wants the Glazer family to end their association with the club, criticising their connection with the club's supporters.
The Glazers issued a statement last November, just three days into the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, confirming that they had put the club up for sale.
They have since received a collection of offers for the club, both for a full sale and to give up a majority stake. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, who wants full control of the club, and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who wants a majority stake, have established themselves as the frontrunners to secure the keys to Old Trafford.
However, the whole process has hit the buffers in recent weeks, with updates on the situation proving non-existent. Sheikh Jassim lodged a fifth and improved bid in early-June and the situation has not developed since.
