Faversham will be out to finish a disappointing season on a high this Saturday. The relegated Lilywhites, whose 13-year Isthmian League stay will come to an end, are due to host Three Bridges at Salters Lane.
But Sammy Moore’s men could at least avoid finishing bottom - after they beat basement boys Corinthian last Saturday 2-0 and then lost by the same scoreline to fourth-placed Beckenham on Tuesday - provided they better Corinthian’s result at Whitehawk.
Town manager Moore said: “We want to finish strongly. “We want to send a message to the supporters and send them out on a high. “They have been fantastic since we’ve been here.” Players from Faversham’s under-23s, who have impressed in their development division, were given a chance in midweek while midfielder Bode Anidugbe and defenders Frazer Shaw and Michael Ademiluyi have left the club.
Most of those young guns will again be involved against Three Bridges. Darren Phillips - who has already committed to stay next season alongside fellow defender Jacques Kpohomouh - and on-loan young Gillingham frontman Ronald Sithole struck at Corinthian three days earlier.
