India's opening batters Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes Test cricket world record as they came out to bat against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the second Test in Kanpur.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 233 runs in the first innings, Rohit and Jaiswal showed attacking intent from ball one, smashing the opponent team's bowlers all across the park.

Rohit and Jaiswal mostly dealt in fours and sixes as they brought up the 50-run mark in just three overs. It was the first instance of a team scoring 50 runs inside the first three overs in Test cricket history since data collection began in the sport.

Earlier, England held the record of scoring fastest fifty in Test cricket, doing so in 26 balls. However, the Indian team managed to break the record by quite a big margin, reaching the team half-century in just 18 balls.

To make things worse, India were a bit sloppy on the field as the New Zealand batters scored quick runs in response. India's new ball bowlers failed to create much, but when the chance did arrive, the fielders failed to capitalise.
Rohit Sharma's dismal run continued as he was dismissed for just 2 on Day 2 of the first Test match against New Zealand in Bengaluru on Thursday. The Indian cricket team captain did not look comfortable on a pitch that provided a lot of support to the fast bowlers and he was ultimately casted by Southee. Rohit was completely beaten by the swing of the delivery and it crashed into the stumps to end Rohit's short stay at the crease. Rohit did not cross the 30-run mark in both Test matches against Bangladesh and his latest disappointing show led to a lot of trolling on social media.
