Fabio Silva gesture to Benfica fans causes salty tears as Rangers star reminds eternal rivals EXACTLY who he is

A subtle Fabio Silva gesture on his return to Benfica has caused consternation in Portugal. The Rangers star turned up on his homecoming against Benfica, setting up his side's second goal and generally proving a thorn in his formative club's side during the Europa League last 16 2-2 draw as the Scottish Premiership leaders teed up a stern Ibrox test for the Portuguese giants next week - exactly the situation Benfica were warned about in the build up.

It's probably the last thing Rodger Schmidt needs. The German was under severe pressure ahead of Thursday night. Benfica trail city rivals Sporting by a point in the title race, and were handed a 5-0 hammering by third placed Porto at the Dragao last weekend.

Schmidt rang the changes which sort of worked, and while a draw with Philippe Clement's side was no disaster, a Euro exit will not be easily forgiven.

Whether Silva was being unforgiving or quietly thankful is up for debate. A Porto boy through and through, last week's five star showing Sergio Conceicao's side would no doubt have delighted the on loan Wolves forward.
