Podium ketiga Formula 1 GP Arab Saudi 2023 dikembalikan kepada Fernando Alonso usai banding yang diajukan Aston Martin dikabulkan FIA.

Hasil ini melanjutkan tren positif pebalap Spanyol tersebut di awal musim. Dalam balapan yang berlangsung di Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Senin (20/3) dini hari WIB, Alonso yang berhasil finis ketiga di belakang Sergio Perez dan Max Verstappen mendapat penalti 10 detik karena dinilai tak menjalani penalti sebelumnya dengan baik.

Alonso memang sempat dihukum penalti lima detik karena mobilnya dinilai tak betul-betul masuk dalam grid sebelum balapan dimulai.

Namun hukuman itu dinilai tak dijalankan pebalap 41 tahun itu dengan baik, sehingga FIA memberikan penalti tambahan.
