Everton are ready to complete the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye before the transfer deadline, but it remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 side will grant his exit, according to journalist Paul Brown. Frank Lampard has overseen a busy few months of business at Goodison Park but can still add to his side before 11pm on September 1.
According to RMC Sport, the 32-year-old has asked for his contract at the Parc des Princes to be terminated to allow his return to Everton to go through, with one year left to run on the deal.
But the report claims that PSG are continuing to stall over their decision, leaving any agreement with the Toffees up in the air.
At the start of August, Gueye reportedly underwent a medical at Everton, alongside Conor Coady, and was on the verge of his return, according to 90Min.
