Erik ten Hag's new transfer targets could grab ideal shirt numbers at Manchester United

Manchester United are starting to put their transfer plans in place as Erik ten Hag eyes-up at least two major signings to continue his rebuild.

England captain Harry Kane is the prime target in the search for a new striker and Ten Hag also wants to bring in a dynamic midfielder this summer.

Further incomings will depend on outgoings - and United have been urged to be more ruthless in that regard when the market reopens - as the club remain open to selling Harry Maguire, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial and others.

They also have back-up recruits in mind. While holding firm interest in Kane and keeping tabs on Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen - who has scored 25 goals in all competition this season - United have also jotted down Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani on their shopping list in the pursuit for a reliable goal-getter to ease the burden on Marcus Rashford. READ MORE: Every word from press conference Hojlund and Muani only switched clubs last season, but United are among leading European sides who have been impressed by their development.
