Erik ten Hag’s biggest problem addressed by David Moyes as ex-Man Utd boss hits out at culture

David Moyes has told Erik ten Hag that Manchester City and Pep Guardiola represent his "biggest problem". Reflecting on Ten Hag's two-year tenure of United so far, Moyes commended the determination of the former Ajax coach for steadfastly handling criticism towards the end of last season, when rumours swirled about his possible sacking.

He argued Ten Hag coped with the unusual situation with "incredible dignity". Nevertheless, the ex-Everton coach pointed out the challenge posed by Guardiola and City as the most significant hurdle for Ten Hag and United in their quest for silverware.

In spite of their triumph against City in the FA Cup final, Moyes emphasised that a "winning culture" appears to have diminished by the overshadowing brilliance of their neighbours' enduring success. "Overall, United's biggest problem isn't their manager or their players, it's Manchester City and Pep Guardiola," Moyes argued while speaking on William Hill's podcast 'Up Front with Simon Jordan', via the Mirror.

United's season resulted in a disappointing eighth place last year, yet the sting of an underwhelming league performance was tempered by their success in clinching the FA Cup.
