England fans' heartbreak after Lionesses lose Women's World Cup final

England fans have taken to social media following the Lionesses' heartbreaking World Cup final defeat to Spain in Sydney. Spain took the lead in the first half through Olga Carmona and Sarina Wiegman's side had their chances, but fell short of that all important equaliser.

Jorge Vilda's side had the opportunity to extend their lead in the second half after they were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box.

VAR stepped in to penalise England midfielder Keira Walsh but Mary Earps stepped up with her heroics once again and ensured her side had a fighting chance.

But, it wasn't to be as Spain were crowned World Champions following the narrow 1-0 win. Pakistan Hockey Federation Bans Five Formers Players For Trying To Make Separate Federation
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Wednesday imposed a life ban on five former Olympians for trying to form a parallel body. PHF President Tariq Bugti said that former Olympian and internationals Nasir Ali, Khalid Bashir, Saleem Nazim, Abbas Ali and Haider Ali had been banned for life. "The PHF found them guilty of trying to run a parallel federation, stealing PHF records and using funds from a PHF account without approval," Bugti said. Since last year after Brigadier (retd) Sajjad Khokar was forced to resign as PHF chief after being in power for more than two terms, a power-struggle is going on between two groups to take control of the PHF.
