The FAI have announced that interim women's manager Eileen Gleeson for the remainder of the team's Nations League campaign. Gleeson took charge of the women's side for recent games at home against Northern Ireland and away to Hungary, following the decision not to renew Vera Pauw's contract.
The FAI confirmed that Gleeson does not want to be considered for the full-time rule, and will move into her position of as Head of Women and Girls' Football.
Ireland's next game is at home to Albania on October 27th, before going away to the same opposition on October 31st. They will finish out the campaign at home to Hungary on December 1st, before their final game away to Northern Ireland on December 5th.
Marc Canham, FAI director of football, said: “We are very pleased with the calibre of candidate on our long list and with the ongoing process but we wanted to give stability to the team and Eileen for the upcoming games. "Eileen has confirmed that she does not wish to be considered for the full-time role but is happy to continue in the interim role until a full-time Head Coach can be announced and she will resume her role as Head of Women and Girls' Football.”
