A driver escaped with minor injuries after a dramatic collision in Manchester city centre that saw a car flip onto its side.

Police blocked off the junction with Fountain Street and Spring Gardens after the crash. Pictures taken from the scene on Monday (September 4) revealed the moment the black Peugeot 107 flipped onto its side as witnesses watched on.

Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed that they were called out to the scene and that only minor injuries were sustained in the collision. Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service, as well as police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene on Monday afternoon.
