Maidstone suffered a fourth successive National League defeat at Dagenham on Boxing Day. Former Gillingham and Ebbsfleet winger Myles Weston scored the Daggers' first-half winner.
It was another frustrating afternoon for the Stones, who started well and had more than enough of the game to take something.
They went close to a last-gasp leveller, with Regan Booty's effort blocked on the line. Maidstone made three changes to the side who beat Worthing in the FA Trophy, with Joe Ellul, Reece Greenidge and Regan Booty back from injury, suspension and illness respectively.
Greenidge’s return proved short-lived, hobbling off after 33 minutes and replaced by Sha’mar Lawson. That saw Kodi Lyons-Foster, who’d started in a new midfield role, dropping back into defence to cover for Greenidge.
