Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi is ‘happy’ at Selhurst Park and will not feel he has to move onto pastures new in order to become an England regular, according to journalist Dean Jones. The Eagles defender made the £18million switch from London rivals Chelsea last year and will be targeting a place in the Three Lions’ squad which heads to Qatar for the World Cup next month.
Having been called up by England boss Gareth Southgate for the Nations League clashes with Italy and Germany, Guehi would have gone into the international break hoping to stake a claim for a place on the flight to the Middle East.
However, he returned to Palace having been deprived of any action and was unable to add to the three caps he gained earlier this year.
The disappointment came despite Guehi failing to miss a single minute of action since the campaign got underway thanks to becoming a key member of Palace’s backline.
